CONVENIENT AND "FREE" CAR PARKING

Outside the surgery, there are ample car park lots, especially on Sundays and public holidays. The advantage of visiting Toa Payoh Vets is that you need not walk more than 1 second to the surgery. Car parking is "free" in 2018 as traffic wardens patrol occasionally.

TAXIS

Singapore's taxi drivers are worried about pets vomiting and soiling their taxis and are known to reject pet owners.  Inform the taxi driver that you have a dog.

Put your pet in  a carrier bag or wrap your pet in a big towel.  Do not carry your pet in your arms as many Singapore pet owners do. Taxi-drivers are worried about pets vomiting in the taxi. Some dogs do vomit inside a moving vehicle

MESSAGE FROM DR SING KONG YUEN

In 2018, it has been a great wonderful 44 years in veterinary practice for me since I graduated in 1974. I started Toa Payoh Vets in 1982 and many of my clients' children are now young adults. Some have married and I see their little ones with their pets.  Younger vets will be handling most cases. Their cases are reviewed by me to ensure a high standard of veterinary medicine and surgery is practised.  My skills and expertise are shared with my associate vets.

I am still practising as I enjoy resolving the challenging varied cases every day and meeting the families of my older clientele.
I am usually at work 7 mornings a week including public holidays and some afternoons unless I am overseas.

I attend to deficiencies in services and complaints and to ensure that there is a high standard of veterinary care from Toa Payoh Vets. I intend to make Toa Payoh Vets one of the top 3 small animal surgeries in Singapore, amongst the over 80 veterinary practices. Toa Payoh Vets' focus is on veterinary surgeries, aiming for successful outcomes.

Giving back to the community is very important for me as I became a veterinarian due to the generosity of the British Government's Colombo Plan Scholarship presented to me in 1969.  Some interesting projects in Singapore and Yangon are:

1. A 2014 lecture to the final year students at the Vet University, Yezin, Myanmar

2.  Case Studies in blogs

Toilet training your puppy in Singapore

Dr Sing's interviews of over 600 cases of Singapore puppies and their house-breaking challenges.

4.  Veterinary Education:  Be Kind To Pets
bekindtopets.com has the archives of case studies to make veterinary medicine and surgery alive for vet students and pet  owners
Video: The Be Kind To Pets project

5. YouTube has the latest case studies

From 2013, real life case studies to educate the visual-oriented younger and better educated pet owners are uploaded on youtube. Some examples are:
